What's happening at Carlsbad Community

CHURCHWIDE

Sermon Series in Matthew… We are on a journey through one of the most treasured writings of the Christian faith. Matthew’s Gospel became, for the early Christians, a manual on discipleship, as Jew and Gentile are made disciples of Jesus and learn to obey all that He taught His original disciples.

“My Therapist Sez”... will be Wednesday, February 8th, at 6:45pm. The topic will be “Keeping Your Kids Safe from Technology”.

Video Programming Help Needed… Are you familiar with PowerPoint and Word? Are you comfortable using the Internet? We need another person to help with programming the video for our Worship Service. It would involve about 1.5 hours one or two weeks a month on a Thursday PM or Friday. Training will be provided. If you are somewhat technical in orientation, you would enjoy the ministry and be a big help. Contact Pati Dabbs (729-2657 or pzimmerdabbs@roadrunner.com) for further details.

Call to Prayer... Please come and experience the blessings of seeking God together, as we pray for our church! We meet on Sunday morning, 8:15-8:45am, and Sunday evening, from 6-7pm, in the Prayer Room. These prayer times are planned for every Sunday, except Communion Sunday, when we will pray together, at noon..

“Helping Hands” Handyman Service… Carlsbad Community Church will extend a “helping hand” to those who cannot help themselves; seniors, disabled, widows, widowers, handicapped, shut-ins and those just in need of a helping hand. This is a service for small in-home tasks, not large jobs. You may also pick up a work order request form from the front desk, in the church office, during office hours, Monday thought Thursday from 9am-4pm.

MEN OF ENCOURAGEMENT

“Life of Christ” Saturday AM Bible Study… This weekly one hour study is led by Pastor Alvin Saturdays, at 7:30am, in room 5. Donuts and Coffee are enjoyed by the men each week beginning at 7:15am. Join the men of CCC as we learn more about Jesus.

Men of Purpose 2012... Wednesday night study begins February 1st, from 6:30-7:55pm, for six sessions. We meet at the same time as the Awana so fathers can bring their children and join us for this study. All men are welcome. This study will not meet during monthly “My Therapist Says”.

Women’s Winter Bible Studies

WINGS “Women in Gods Service”… invites the ladies of CCC to join their visiting ministry. These ladies spend 2-4 hours per month visiting those who are shut-in and their “wings” are presently clipped. The WINGS ladies know that God desires that none of His loved ones feel forgotten when circumstances cause them to feel separated from their loved ones. The blessing received is when He allows us to be His emissaries. For more information call JoAnn Brandon (760-434-0983). Meetings are the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1pm at various homes or in the Dyer room.

GEMS (Grant Everyone Memory Sharing) … First Monday of the Month from 10:30am-12noon, in room 201. This group is for single ladies of any age. We will have a time of fellowship, sharing personal memories of God’s blessings, and singing our favorite hymns.
